Volunteering is when someone spends time, unpaid, doing something to benefit society, the environment or someone who they’re not closely related to. Volunteering must be a choice freely made by each individual.

Volunteers and voluntary organisations can benefit from various funding support which enable them to provide the necessary assistance to complete their services.

These funds recognises that volunteering can have a special meaning. They cater for the different approaches to volunteering and needs of different sectors.

Assistance For You (A4U)

A4U is a competitive scheme where youth organisations apply for funding by presenting initiatives which aim to either improve their facilities or increase their resources.

Be Active Scheme

Be Active is a competitive scheme where youth organisations apply for funding by developing a community project related to a number of priority topics.

Loaning Equipment

The loaning of equipment scheme is a free service run by Agenzija Zghazagh which supports the work and operations of youth organisations.

Musical tuition for young people in band clubs

The musical tuition of young people in band clubs scheme provides financial assistance to local band clubs to come up with initiatives to support the capacity of the music tuition service they offer. The funding scheme is operated by Agenzija Zghazagh in collaboration with Ghaqda Kazini tal-Banda.

Civil Society Fund

Financial assistance for the purpose of facilitating their affiliation with and participation in European groupings, associations, federations, confederation networks, and training related to EU Policy/Programmes.

Erasmus+

Erasmus+ is the EU’s programme to support education, training, youth and sport. With a budget of €14.7 billion for 2014-2020 it provides opportunities for over 4 million participants to study, train, gain experience, and volunteer abroad. It also offers €1.68 billion for activities with partner countries.
